Hi just your local barista here to address this rising concern. Starbucks should absolutely not be open in the cook and DuPage county area. Starbucks as a whole, although popular, is NOT a necessity. Despite the precautions the company has been having us partners follow, it doesn’t protect us from becoming in contact with this virus through something like cash. Or even simply if a customer comes that might be contagious can give it to the entire store without the team being aware of it. This puts not only the partner at higher risk for catching this virus, but also increases the chances of a partner transferring said virus to a customer. This petition is to shut down the store in this area to simply stop to spread if this virus, while protect our team. If we truly want to create a place where customers feel safe, how can we truly keep up with that when this virus can easily spread without anyone’s knowledge. This is to protect the team, customers and business. If this becomes and even bigger issue and a partner gives a customer this virus, to backlash from social media and the customers perspective will be bad.
