Anyone who's grown up in Alton, Illinois knows Alton Square Mall needs help. Over the years our mall has been slowly dying and it no longer is as popular as it used to be. So many businesses have closed and anyone who goes in would wonder how the mall stays open at all. I think it's time for that to change. It's inconvenient how most of us here have to drive to Edwardsville or St. Louis to visit popular stores and shops and honestly it makes no sense having a mall in our town that doesn't appeal to a younger audience. That's why I think it would be a great idea for the city and the mall to work together to bring back business to the once popular attraction and bring more fun back to Alton. The best way to do that is to bring in things people use all the time, like Starbucks, Panda Express, Books-A-Million, Best Buy, and more. I think it's time that our generation take over and have a say in what we want to happen to our beautiful town and make Alton popular again. Starbucks is a perfect first step in that process in that it will bring in lots of traffic into the mall, with that they can add more businesses and therefore attract more customers and add more job opportunities in the community. Let's tell Alton what needs to be done.
