If you have ever gotten a drip coffee from Starbucks - or likely any drink - in their disposable paper cups, you understand the issue at hand. You take your cup, walk three steps toward the door (or begin to drive away, for the drive-thru folks), and then you feel it. The scalding dribble down your knuckles. You wince from the heat as you scurry to move the coffee further away from your body - the leak between the lid and cup-rim sputters on. Heart rate begins to rise...

    Not from the sweet caffeine, but rather because you are beginning to recognize the risks. You’re on your way to work. Are you going to be that person with the coffee stain today? What, have you never drank coffee before?! How embarrassing. Panic sets in. You thought you had some Chipotle napkins in the glove box, but you find they have disappeared. Perfect timing. How long is this stain going to rest in your cup holder? Slob. Will you be able to rinse it out of your pants? 
... Your new sundress. “Don’t even think about it,” you say to yourself. It was the last one in your size. And it wasn’t cheap. Please, please don’t spill on my new sundress.

We’re too smart for this. I refuse to believe the in the impossibility of a leak-free cup/lid configuration. Let’s spark some change! The LARGEST COFFEE COMPANY IN THE WORLD has a massive customer service issue that the customers have simply grown used to. Think about this - Starbucks uses about 2.3 billion paper cups per year. 2.3 billion cups that all have the same, widely known flaw. It’s unacceptable.
