Cadboro Bay, Victoria BC is a beautiful village just up from a popular beach and down the hill from the University.

Starbucks in Cadboro Bay, Victoria BC has been a focus where members of the community meet for 16 years. It is spacious, comfortable and the heated outdoor seating has been much appreciated since the onset of COVID 19. The nearest alternatives are a few km away and are not nearly as well designed. There is very little outside seating at those branches and it is not heated.

Starbucks has decided to close the branch with only a few days notice and without consulting the community. The staff do not know why this decision has been made.

Starbucks highlights its mission as “to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.” And its vision is to “treat people like family, and they will be loyal and give their all.”

We believe that by closing the Cadboro Bay store, Starbucks is letting down the neighbourhood and is being disloyal to the community at this time of crisis caused by the pandemic.

We ask that Starbucks live up to its mission and it’s vision and reconsider their decision to close the store.
