When you generally think of holiday drinks, three come to mind: Peppermint Mochas, Apple Cider, and *Eggnog*. Starbucks' choice to discontinue the popular Eggnog Latte is insulting and chips away at a holiday tradition to many. In fact, the drink is so popular in my area, they regularly run out of it each year. The lack of an explanation and the passive-aggressive responses such as, "Your barista will be happy to help you find a new drink to love, such as the Iced Sugar Cookie Oat Latte!" is incredibly insulting to Starbucks regulars. Many have stated in angry Tweets and Facebook comments: the eggnog latte is a cherished drink because it is not as sweet as the rest of the holiday favorites; to replace it with a new sugary favorite is ironic and completely misses the mark. The drink is also one of the few drinks that actually contains a traditional holiday drink, not just a variety of cinnamon, holiday spices, and sugars. Starbucks, after all that we have been through together in the past two years, preventing yet another tradition is devastating...Don't you think we've all been through enough?
