Black lives matter. People are having to explain to their children how to stay safe when they grow up to not get killed, unarmed men are being killed without even being able to go to court at all, “I can’t breathe” those are George Floyd’s last words before he was killed by a police officer kneeling on his neck. Everyday I ask myself why this is happening and why the world has to be like this. Well, it doesn’t have to be like this. Everyone deserves to be equal. One of my best friends is black and I can’t even imagine how worried I would be if I was a black person. We need to put ourselves in their shoes.  We need to see what they go through every day. Forever through history the only lives that have mattered are white lives. That needs to change. When my parents told me about all of this happening I burst into tears. My dream would be for everyone to be treated equally. So many people agree with me and this can change the world. So many peoples lives can be spared. So, this is why I am writing this. This is not the way the world should be and it’s not right. There are probably lots of people who disagree but I will give it my everything. There may be freedom for some people but not everyone. We need to stop judging people for what they look like or what culture they are from. People are people, no matter what.
