After having seen a Register Of Members’ Financial Interests as of 30 March 2020,  it is quite disturbing the sums of money changing hands and where this money is coming from.

Very large payments, holidays, tickets to events, meals, hotel costs, and travel paid for by wealthy individuals and companies.

Donations of any kind should be stopped, either in cash terms or as gifts to MPs.

The situation as it stands is open to many forms of corruption and underhanded dealings.

When large companies, corporations or wealthy individuals make donations of any kind we can only assume that they may want something in return.

This may mean getting a government contract, or a favorable hearing on a particular issue in the house or an individual MP pushing for change either in the law or regulations to help a particular benefactor gain wealth or the upper hand in some respect.

The public believes that those who stand for election do so because they want to serve them and the country, but this situation calls that into question. Serving the country or serving themselves?

Members of Parliament receive a salary and any duties carried out as an MP should not be rewarded with gifts and handsome donations.

If you agree please sign this petition.
