Stand up for students’ safety

Stand up for students’ safety
Hi, every concerned parent and student who cares about the recent outbreak of omicron Covid-19 infection. I am writing this petition to the University of California, Berkeley, to ask for at least two weeks (14 days) of remote instruction for students to get tested and isolated if they get infected.
Additionally, for further epidemic control, we formally request the university to consider changing large courses (courses that have over 50 people in a classroom) to shift to remote before the situation gets better.
I along as an undergraduate student of UC Berkeley was really thankful for everything the university and the school faculty have been doing for all of the students during the past 2 difficult years. I really need to say thank you for all the support I have been getting since I am one of the students who were admitted to the university during the pandemic. I do want things back to normal and have my one and only college experience. However, I do not want to risk my whole life and even my family’s life to fulfill my college experience.
I hope the university can consider the risk we will face when all classes are in person without any time for buffering. There are students, friends, school faculties who have kids and grandparents that they need to take care of, who have jobs besides college to pay for their own bills and their family’s bills, who have other diseases or low immunity, kids or elders who below or above the range of vaccination, or due to other reasons that didn’t get vaccinated. Their safety and health need to be considered!
So, please! Let UC Berkeley hear from us, let the school know our need!
