As of the 6th January 2020, Stagecoach South are cutting the majority of lunchtime bus services to and from Alton College. This means that students will have to stay at college for the whole day. This dramatically effects those who have jobs on half days, for example, as it will mean they’re unable to work and so will most likely be made redundant. One of the services has also been cut completely meaning that individuals who live in certain areas will no longer be able to catch the bus without travelling a significant distance to another bus stop. This is clearly outrageous as many people have paid over £700 for an annual bus pass under the impression that they would be able to travel home at lunch time. Please share this petition with those in Alton College and family members of people in the college to help bring back the original services, ideally before the service changes are brought into effect on the 6th January 2020.
