Allow TOL female lifeguards to wear regular black shorts

As lifeguards of the township of Langley we are provided with a uniform to wear. However, the new shorts that are provided to the girls are incredibly short, making the individuals wearing them feel uncomfortable. Some workers have tried to wear other athletic plain black shorts like lululemons, and have been scolded, or told they will not receive shifts if they continue to do so. The townships response to us is that if we feel uncomfortable wearing the provide shorts we should purchase the $50 lifeguard leggings - but who wants to wear leggings when it’s 30 degrees outside. Moral of the story, when working, female staff members should not feel the need to have to wear spandex under their shorts because they are too short, bend over to pick up a kick board or loosen lane ropes and have a patron comment on the colour of their underwear, or see other staff members bums hang out while working. If females on staff of all body types, shapes, and sizes, equally feel uncomfortable, then it’s obviously a situation that recquires a solution. Our proposed alternative is to allow females to wear plain black athletic shorts (of an appropriate and comfortable length) and if recquired, we will get printed on the leg “aquatic staff” on ourselves.
