Why this petition matters

Started by Daisy Wordham

As more than just a school, a place where we become future global changemakers, at Upton Court Grammar, we want to help solve the climate crisis by raising the tree coverage of Slough, and creating a cleaner atmosphere in which learn under, as well as providing a service to the local community, by planting 110 trees on our school field. This number of trees marks a historical anniversary of UCGS, founded 110 years ago, and coincides nicely with the Queens Platinum Jubilee, for which Her Majesty's 'Green Canopy' scheme has been launched.  As a vital stage in young peoples lives, we believe secondary schools should create a mindset of growth and resilience, over coming challenges on a bigger scale than just education.  Though ambitious, we would be able to plant these trees without impacting on other parts of school life, easily avoiding sports pitches on the field, which is why we need the support of students at UCGS in order to pioneer this change and set an example for other schools to follow, as we have done with so many other aspects of life at Upton Court Grammar School.

If you are in favor of contributing to an amazing cause, please sign the below petition, to raise awareness of our aims.
