Aktuell werden am Kölner Dom die Stufen saniert. Die Stadt Köln hat sich dafür eingesetzt, dass nach der Sanierung zusätzliche Blindenstreifen vor und hinter den Stufen angebracht werden.

Das tragische Problem dabei ist, dass diese Stufen einen weltberühmten "Spot" für die globale Skateboard-Szene darstellen und diese Veränderung den Spot für immer unfahrbar machen würden. Professionelle Skateboardfahrer aus aller Welt (wie z.B Chris Joslin aus Amerika) reisen extra für diese Treppen nach Köln, in der Hoffnung dort einen ebenbürtigen Trick zu schaffen. Über die Jahre hinweg ist genau diese Domtreppe zu einem kulturellen Skateboarding-Welterbe geworden und es wäre wirklich schade wenn Köln der Welt diesen attraktiven Spot nehmen würde. 

Deswegen bitte ich euch alle, diese Petition dringend zu unterschreiben, in der Hoffnung, dass die Stadt Köln darauf aufmerksam gemacht wird und anschließend die Blindenstreifen in den kommenden Wochen nicht (oder in einer abgewandelten Form, damit der Spot weiterhin skatebar bleibt) an die Treppen anbauen, um somit einen legendären Skate-Spot zu retten! Wir sind bemüht eine Lösung für alle zu finden und versuchen gerade den Kontakt zum Blinden Verein in Köln herzustellen.

The stairs at the Cologne Cathedral are currently being renovated. The city of Cologne wants additional blind stoppers to be installed in front and behind the stairs after the renovation.
The tragic problem with this is that these stairs represent a world-famous "spot" for the global skateboarding scene and this change would make the spot unskateable forever. Professional skateboarders from all over the world (such as Chris Joslin from America) travel to Cologne especially for these stairs, in the hope of landing a worthy trick . Over the years, this particular stair set  has become a cultural skateboarding world heritage and it would be a real shame if Cologne took this attractive spot away from the world.
Therefore, I ask you all to urgently sign this petition, in the hope that the city of Cologne will be made aware of this and consequently not add the blind stoppers onto the stairs in the coming weeks (or in a modified form so that the spot can still be skated) in order to save a legendary skate spot! We are looking for a solution that suits everybody and are currently trying to get in contact with the blind association in Cologne.
