Keep our dog Ozzy alive!

This petition made change with 560 supporters!

Ozzy is a fun, wonderful, friendly, and caring dog rescued by my sister Jaime from a shelter after being thrown out on the side of a major highway. He brings joy to each person he meets, with special regard to my sister who loves him more than anything in this world. Ozzy has always been by her side, supporting her through many stressful life events, including brain surgery. Together they are survivors. His smiling face and unconditional love for Jaime brings comfort and joy to her, decreasing her battles with depression and anxiety. Ozzy also brings so much joy to each one of her family members and friends. But the St. Charles County animal control took Ozzy away from Jaime due to current unfair laws, taking her strength and faith away with him too. Ozzy was taken away after he was labeled aggressive when he reacted as a dog would do to a fearful, unusual environmental stressor (heightened by being partially blind). Ozzy is the least aggressive dog I know. Encourage the decision makers to think in a rational way and realize that animals communicate differently than humans. Help them to realize this is NOT the only option. Better options exist, such as dog training, and education on proper animal interaction to family, friends, and the community. It is unjust to take and kill an innocent, scared animal who changes lives. Ozzy is a member of our family. It is for the greater good to keep Ozzy alive and together with Jaime. Please sign this petition to support my family, our dog, and humanity. Help fight for unjust policies and practices in Missouri as well as the entire U.S. Speak up for the unheard voices of our animals.
