I used to work near the theatre and loved the movies shown there. It is a beautiful building and part of Melbourne's history, and as such should be preserved for all to enjoy.

The Astor was THE place to watch films while I was a student at Melbourne Uni...It was a weekly event to go and see a double feature, and I saw SO many amazing films because of it (and some trash too, lets not get coy here haha). We need to save this heritage for future generations!

The Astor is something that should continue to be enjoyed by all Victorians. It is irreplaceable as an historic cinema.

I think the Astor is a fantastic theatre and space for people to enjoy cinema, and would be greatly saddened if it were to be shut down.

It's a really nice and unique cinema! Much nicer athmosphere than the more standard ones. And their cat is cute. :) We just arrived in melbourne and have only gone once so far, but will continue to do so from now on.

Happy memories of attending showings at the Astor, a great meeting place with the grand piano and the lovely Art Deco style. Please save it for posterity.

Recently moved from Melbourne and loved the Astor...would hate to see anyhting happen to it. Hoping to still get down and attend.
