We, the graduating Seniors and their Parents of St. Mary's County, hereby petetion St. Mary's County Public Schools to allow graduating Seniors to march at the proposed graduation and receive their diplomas with their parents in attendance.  

This is a once in a lifetime event that we, the graduating Class of 2020, want to experience and share with our parents first hand when it happens and not at a later date via a video. Memories of high school graduations last a lifetime. We and our loved ones deserve the memory of such a beautiful and prideful day.  We understand that the proper personal protection equipment(PPE) and that social distancing requirements will be required and that is not only acceptable, but understandable. We just feel that our parents, who have supported us throughout our entire school career, should be present to see the culmination of our years of hard work.
