Due to the surge in cases of covid-19 cases recently, a statewide emergency was announced, many students and staff in st marys County came down with covid over winter break.

although I didn't catch it many in my family did, it even killed my friends grandmother. and while school is in session many don't have their mask on all the way and social distancing isn't possible during ABC lunch which we have to use because there isn't even enough staff to cover all the rooms open during normal lunch. (atleast thats how it is at great mills)

if someone were to catch covid in A lunch for example, they could easily spread it to a considerable amount of the students who are in a lunch, and those students could spread it to their family and other students and so on, this could cause a outbreak within the school and could potentially kill some of the staff and students.

due to the risk covid presents right now, I believe that schools in st mary's county should be temporarily closed until things die down or atleast until the state emergency ends.
