St Martin-in-Meneage School must be saved for pupils and the local community

The Keskowethyans Multi-Academy Trust is trying to close St Martin-in-Meneage School by July 2017.
This is not in the best interests of the children currently at the school and is a devastating blow to the local community.
St Martin School has a long history and is rated as 'Good' by OFSTED. The Keskowethyans MAT has failed to involve parents, the Parish Council and the community, all of whom are keen to support the School. Pupil numbers are currently low, but there is absolutely no reason why this situation cannot be reversed, as has happened at neighbouring schools.
The only way to stop the school from being closed is to show how much support there is for the school from the community. To show that people support small Cornish schools and Cornish communities.
Please support this petition if you believe that a school that is central to its community should have every effort made and every option considered to keep it open. We are asking for the school to be given a chance, a real chance, to survive.
We are calling for teaching to be kept at St Martin School and that a 3 year strategic plan be created for the school by the MAT with input from teachers, parents/carers, Parish Council, Pre- School group, Community Action Group, local residents, County Councillor and MP.
