St. Mark's - with rising COVID cases at SM and in MA, it's time that we go remote/hybrid to prevent further transmission in our community!

Massachusetts and the United States have seen an unprecedented sharp increase in COVID cases in the past weeks due to Omicron. Now more than ever, St. Mark's is seeing more and more positive COVID cases, both stemming from external and community transmission. More and more students are being identified as close contacts and are having to quarantine while attending class remotely. Sports games are being canceled, the social atmosphere is at an all time low as winter depression is setting in. Students are miserable at the prospect of having to attend classes and are worried at the prospect of contracting the virus. Many international students have not been able to return home in over 5 months. Scientists are predicting that Omicron is going to be the largest COVID surge yet and current infection rates support this. It's time, St. Mark's, to lead by example and do what is right. For the health, the wellbeing, and the happiness of St. Marker's, it is time that we move towards a hybrid model until March break.
