Safer Way to School for our Kids

With Dressel Elementary School on Musick Ave, being surrounded by neighborhoods full of families in walking distance, and in an effort to help our children be active as encouraged by the schools and physicians, we would love for our children to be able to walk, ride bikes, skip, or even run to school. Currently, There are sidewalks on the south side of Musick Ave where the school is located, however, on the north side of Musick Ave, the sidewalks stop from Crecelius Drive to Kamping Lane. There is also no longer a crosswalk light on Musick Ave where there once was in between Crecelius Drive and Sonata Drive, the electrical boxes are still there, however, the walk light has been removed.
We are proposing that sidewalks be placed in between the three streets that are missing, between Crecelius Drive, Sonata Drive, and Kamping Lane. As well as moving the cross walk light to a safer location at the corner of Crecelius Drive across Musick Ave to the stairs that lead down the back of the Dressel Elementary School Property. This way the families can safely get their children up Musick Ave, and across to the school without having to worry about their children getting hit on a busy street.
This should also help with the speeding traffic on Musick during the school hours. if there are signs placed at the bottom of both hills warning of the crosswalk light, then it will warn drivers to slow down. Please help make this community a safer place for our children to grow, learn and get to school in a healthy way! Thank you!
