Zach Sullentrup started this petition to The St. Louis Blues

Anyone who's attended a St. Louis Blues game in recent history knows that in the third period, the audience at the Enterprise Center breaks into a stadium-wide karaoke rendition of John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads."

For some reason, it's a tradition now and it's dumb as heck, which is why we're proposing it's replaced with "Get Back Up" by Tidal Volume. Allow us to state our case.

"Take Me Home, Country Roads":

  • By a guy whose last name is Denver (home of the Avalanche)
  • Official state song of West Virginia (no NHL team)
  • Lyrics have nothing to do with hockey or winning
  • Doesn't even slap

"Get Back Up":

  • By local St. Louis band Tidal Volume, who are huge Blues fans
  • Arena-ready rock anthem that isn't associated with any other states or cities
  • The word "Blues" is literally in the lyrics AND it's 3:14 long
  • Slaps extremely hard

You can listen to Get Back up on Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Music. Decide which side of history you want to be on.
