Jul 8, 2018 — Hello ALL! Anyone in support of our petition to get K9 Office Flash returned to his family PLEASE feel free to show up at 6pm this coming Tuesday to the Commissioners meeting at County-City Bldg 227 W Jefferson Blvd. SOUTH BEND INDIANA (wear white to show you support Flash!) OR you CAN Email The board at Today I spent 1 hour on the phone with a very well accredited, certified, licensed Police and Military K9 trainer who told me that "what this department is trying to do is to basically create 'Stockholm syndrome' for K9 Flash, hoping that depriving him of human interaction will make him more eager to bond with a THIRD handler, this can backfire and It is highly IMPROBABLE that K9 Officer FLASH would bond with a THIRD handler because 2 bonds have already been broken and because he lived with his handler which helps them form a deeper bond. This type of "debriefing" can essential cause what a layman would call KENNEL CRAZY, working In the complete opposite way that the department wants it to work, in this case, it is more a case of animal abuse". PLEASE HELP US, reach out to the commissioners! We thank you! Please let me state that if you send an email we want you to know that it is NOT the Board of Commissioners who are keeping K9 Officer Flash from his family, it is actually the St Joseph County Sheriff who has Flash "detained". I have just been informed that the outside door to the dog run at this pound has been closed, Flash is now being locked inside, even though it was a gorgeous day in Indiana yesterday! Heartless!
