We are almost 2 years into the Corona Virus. They have been put through "Protective Measures" that we have no scientific proof even work. They have been denied a normal high school experience.  As parents we have watched our children suffer, not physically, but socially and emotionally. My daughter is a Senior at Nease. We were hopeful that this year would be a "normal" year for her. Her only "normal" year of high school was her freshman year. I have just been informed that they are putting this years Homecoming dance on "Hold" due to Covid. As of September 8th , 2021 there were 709 covid cases in the district. There are currently 45,643 students enrolled in St. John County Schools. Of those 709 cases, 108 of these are high school students throughout the district. That is less then .25% of the students currently enrolled in the county.   These children are at school together all day, in stadiums at football games, and together socially on the weekends. There is no reason that these kids social and emotional lives to be on hold any longer. I am asking that the St. John County Schools starts putting the health and WELL BEING of their students first. I am asking that they reinstate the Homecoming dance. If you are ready for your students to start living a normal life again, please sign this petition. LIFE isn't LIFE if you aren't living it to its full potential. We only live once! We don't get any do overs! Every Moment missed is a moment that can never be made again. Please sign!!!
