jason bonner started this petition to St Johns County Florida Board of Commissioners and

Considering the enormous growth of our city in both population and visitors, it is time to finally solve one very obvious issue- transporting our students across overly congested bridges in order to get their education. Families of students from the Bridge of Lions all the way to Crescent Beach will benefit from the addition of a Middle and High School on land that is already owned by St Johns County and being under utilized currently.

Furthermore, ANY individual who braves the morning commute over any of our 3 bridges will benefit from no busses being required to cross either in the morning nor the afternoon thus immediately relieving a giant traffic concern during the two busiest parts of each work day.

With the addition of homes being built on the last few areas of viable land at the base of 312, the new neighborhoods now between Pope Rd and 16th st on the island make Secondary Education on the island a requirement. Considering the massive overpopulation due to an enormous influx of neighborhoods being added to the districts closely surrounding Sebastian Middle/St Augustine High as well as any plans to expand the corridor of 206 nearby to Gamble Rogers Middle/ Pedro Menendez High, it is past time to look to our County Board of Education to stop pandering to the county pet projects located in the northern portion of our County and finally restore some sense of order and quality of life to the town that has literally been used as the draw to entice these new inhabitants to move to our surrounding areas in the first place.

Please join my family in this petition to offer a better quality of life to our children and ultimately our town by relieving this huge traffic concern while simultaneously granting our citizens some reprieve from being forced to bottleneck onto overpopulated bridges and into tiny streets not meant for the growth our city is experiencing.
