leah Redmond started this petition to St Joeseph Church Eastwall Dublin 3

Hi All I Setting up this petition  on behalf of my family other familes and more than likely the residents of Eastwall, on the way St  JOESEPH Church  East Wall  treat our little Community, The Priest is always too busy does not work certain days only when it suits. They hand out 50 tickets and as a family already stressed enough have to hand out tickets!!!  We respect the Covid restrictions but no other Church hand out tickets.... it's The only Church that does not have a live  Web cam for  people to watch outside while standing  outside  the church....No lights on in the church was very Dark....

During  the Family grief the church added more upset by refusing to have the service on the Wed as was told church is closed delay the funeral until Fri which 1 of been 1 week of passed already, after alof of upset finally agreed to have funeral on Thursday. No Priest liased with family or came to family home. An elderly neighbour had to say the rosary as the coffin was closed. Mother of deceased was stop and asked for a ticket!!! to get into the church. Which is disgraceful. No Priest showed up St the grave the Nun did who was 25 minutes late a teenage had to play music from phone until we taught a Priest will arrived but was the Nun.

Alot of residents that are young & old who would have done alot for the Eastwall community had to leave their area that they knew all their life and go to other churches and have their loved ones buried treated with respect. Personally the treatment given to grieving families is shocking and disrespectful.. it's bad enough a loved one dying but then to deal with ignorance of a local church  truly theirs alot to answer for....

No family member should have to ask to be treated  with a bit of respect when burying a loved one... imagine if this was your BROTHER, SON, FATHER, MOTHER, NEPHEW & FRIEND....

And they wonder why no Young people attend church. Or have so much hatred towards the church....

As seen above Priest never came to the house to say  prayers , everyone was saying it was a holy show even if he had came and said a prayer even outside  it not as if he's had to come far we only live right across the road from the church....

We would of loved for David to go to another Church but it just didn't seem Right as David was Baptised, made his holy communion, & Confirmation in the church. & of course only lived accross the road .....

Other Parish Priest have personally went out ot there way to send lovely messages to us and one Priest who alway went above and beyond had said

It makes me so sad - as we  should be There for people visit them pray with them comfort them and it seems your family  and  other families didn’t Receive any support like that.

This message has also been sent to Archbishop Dermot Farrell, Drumcondra, Dublin 9. Waiting for a reply.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to read  and hopefully never have to experience what us as a family and other Eastwall Wall families had to experience..
