St. Francis community church Kahutara
Why this petition matters
On the 28th August 2022 an email was sent out informing that on the 11th September, a two week window, that a Special General Meeting will be held in the Featherston church hall that the south Wairarapa Parish Vestry, based in Martinborough, have decided to begin the process of selling St. Francis Community Church Kahutara. To those in the Kahutara community who are concerned that the Anglican Parish of the South Wairarapa are to sell our community church, we are asking you to sign this petition to keep our community church from being sold for the profit of the Martinborough Vestry. This church, established in 1961, by many members of the district, at no cost to the Featherston Church was established as a focal point for any of the district families for baptisms, weddings, funerals and the general use to celebrate festival days on the church calendar. Please sign below if you would like to support St. Francis Community Church to remain in its present state. Please note, there has been no consultation with the members of the Kahutara community in this decision.
