Michael Hickson was a quadriplegic (unable to use his arms and legs) black man, age 46, who was diagnosed with COVID-19. While his wife and sister both pushed for one of them to be named his legal guardian during his care, the court appointed Family Eldercare as his guardian.

Hickson was placed in hospice under their care, after his doctor decided that his disability meant he had no quality of life. Michael was a loving husband and father to five children. Once in hospice, it was alleged that he was denied food and treatment for six days, passing away on June 11th.

Injustices, especially concerning race, are all too prevalent in the medical field. Please sign this petition calling for further investigation of St. David's and Family Eldercare. This includes determing if there is grounds for a medical malpractice suit and/or a lawsuit against Family Eldercare. Justice can be achieved for his widow and children with your signature and two minutes of your time. BLACK LIVES MATTER.
