As parents of children that attend Saint Bartholomew, we are petitioning to return the drop-off and dismissal procedures to those from last year which in our view were much more efficient and sustainable. The main reason for this request is the significant amount of time that this new process has added to both drop-off and dismissal. That coupled with an earlier start time has added a significant amount of unnecessary stress for families, especially those that have multiple children to drop off/pick-up at different locations in between the work day. This has also added stress to children who may be sitting in a car waiting to be dropped off and then are penalized if they are late or in a classroom waiting to be picked up for an extended amount of time listening to 300 names being called on a loud speaker. This new process is also adding significant backup in both directions on Ryders lane. We have essentially left a usable parking lot empty and unnecessarily caused traffic and havoc. Other Catholic and private schools in the area have not implemented these procedures. We ask for your consideration of our request to revert to the previous arrival and pick up procedures and for the families of Saint Bartholomew to be heard.
