To St. Anne Parents,

We are concerned parents that are asking St. Anne School to stop forcing our children to wear masks.  Our school is claiming that they must enforce masking as a requirement to stay open for in-person education. This is simply not a true statement as we all know of other private schools here in OC that are open with in-person classes and are not mandating masks. Many of these schools have not required masks for over a year while St Anne is not only enforcing this, but assigning detention for children who do not wear their mask properly. We now have studies showing that these masks are not only ineffective, but they can be harmful to our children’s physical and mental health.  

The school leadership continues to tell us they are “required” to enforce these masks on our kids.  How is this true if there is NO law that requires masks in school. There is only “guidance” from the CA Dept of Public Health (CDPH) which is linked below.  The CDPH provides guidance or recommendations, not law.  St Anne does have a choice. They can make masks optional for all students so parent’s can decide what is best for their families.

We all saw the hypocrisy of our government leaders last weekend breaking their own rules, mask free, sitting inside.  But our children are required to wear their masks all day in the classroom.  We are fed up and it’s time to stand up.  There are no metrics in place to have an end to the masks.  Our school leaders don’t have a plan for when or how to return to a mask-free environment.  We must take action.  Please join us and sign this petition to let St Anne know that it is time for our children to breath freely and show their beautiful faces again.
