NHS WORKER – FORCED TO LEAVE HER HOME OF 53 YEARS

Heather Gray – Pickford Hill, Harpenden

Heather is a single lady and breast cancer survivor who has resided at her home in Batford, Harpenden for 53 years and where she lived with her parents since the age of 8.

After the death of her Dad in 1987 she continued to live with her Mum.         

Heather had breast cancer in 2011 and over 12 months, had 2 operations then major surgery and reconstruction.    In later years her Mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and became housebound Heather acted as her Carer for a number of years as well as working full time for the NHS.  Her Mum passed away in Oct. 2020.

Heather has 2 Golden Retrievers her whole life revolves around her dogs, home, work and the local community, the place she knows and loves.

The local Council have decided, under their ‘Discretionary Powers’, that Heather should not be allowed to succeed the tenancy and she is to be evicted.
