Re: Request to change the timings for PYP students.

Respected Sirs/ Madam,

We, parents of PYP students at your school, humbly request you to reconsider the school timings for the PYP students. We made several representations individually in the past year and none of them were considered so we decided to make a collective request.

The current online timings from 8:15am to almost 3pm for PYP students is extremely burdensome on the students and the parents and we feel it can be avoided. Almost all other schools in Hyderabad end their classes at 12pm. These PYP students only have homeroom, language and one extra period for PE/dance/drama/music/arts per day. That’s a total of 3 periods. We feel this can be easily accomplished from 8:15am to 12pm with an extended homeroom until tea break and then a language and the extra class. Children can do their offline task after the school ends and submit it and teachers can check the work offline. Right now, teachers go through each child’s offline task in the classroom and a child has to wait a whole hour just to get his/her work read out in the class. It can sometimes be frustrating to the child and to the parent as well.

The current school day requires unnecessary and avoidable screen time in our opinion. Children get tired from spending long hours before the screen and struggle with the attention span. Even we as parents have to ensure that we are around to help them upload their work or guide them to the correct class (for younger kids). It will be much more efficient use of our time to have 3 classes (homeroom, language and arts (performing and visual) all before 12pm.

We will be happy to meet you in person, if required, to express our concerns. We hope you can take some positive action in this regard failing which we will be forced to take our children out of the school.

Sincerely,
