Joe Linderman started this petition to SQUARE ENIX CO. and

DISCLAIMER: SQUARE ENIX HAS, AS OF YET, NEITHER CONFIRMED, NOR DENIED A NORTH AMERICAN RELEASE, AS SUCH THIS PETITION IS MEANT NOT TO REVERSE A DECISION THEY HAVE MADE, BUT RATHER TO INFLUENCE THEM TO MAKE THE DECISION WE WOULD LIKE THEM TO, BY SHOWING THAT THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST IN THEIR PRODUCT TO WARRANT A NORTH AMERICAN LOCALIZATION.

Calling all Dragon Quest fans! Plenty of you have most likely seen the announcement of Dragon Quest: Walk recently, and if you haven't, I highly recommend you do so. Many fans of Pokémon Go, and Dragon Quest alike would LOVE a game like this to make it to the west. However, DQ has had a shoddy record for western releases, and as such has left a hanging shadow of doubt over said fans that this game wouldn't be considered popular enough here to warrant said release, with most assuming it to be a no go.

Well I'm here to tell them that Dragon Quest: Walk HAS a market here, so Square Enix would do well to release it and, as many would most likely say "just take our money!"

Dragon Quest Builders, and Dragon Quest XI, two recent releases, have done better in the west than many of their predecessors, showing that there is a growing interest in the franchise! What better way to influence MORE interest, than to appeal to a market as large as the western mobile market, and in a way that's approachable to just about ANYONE, even if they're not otherwise a Dragon Quest fan! The variety of this game would produce both an interesting new take to excite long time fans with something completely different, as well as a casual, friendly, approachable way to bring in other more casual, or less RPG interested players!

Petitions don't change the world, in fact most of them do nothing. But if this can show, for even a SPLIT SECOND to some random Square Enix executive that there are voices in the west calling for a release, then maybe, just maybe he might remember it at his next board meeting. Who knows! Couldn't hurt to at least try, right?
