Since entering SPS, Dr. Grenita Lathan has actively caused division, a lack of transparency to her taxpayers, bullying among school board members, violated the Sunshine Law, and destroyed bus services for those that live within boundaries of their own school. The new school start/end times have been detrimental to families' lives and work schedules, now children are walking home in the dark from not being able to ride their bus. Dr. Lathan has renamed and attempted to hide CRT in schools, and continues to push not only the curriculum, but forced training for teachers as well. Before she came to SPS, all COVID decision making powers were granted solely to our previous super, and although the board has attempted to take back their rights, Dr. Lathan is still the only one with a voice on this matter. The board is there to be the communication between parents and the superintendent, but that isn't how Dr. Lathan wants it. Lathan wants to continue to keep parents out of our schools as much as possible so that you cannot witness firsthand how greatly she is corrupting our children and teachers. Lathan needs to go. Lathan was forced out of several other districts, and it needs to happen in SPS.
