DeNicole Zavala started this petition to Springfield, MO City Council

As a nation we promote the acceptance of everybody, no matter the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs etc. It is considered wrong to stereotype people based on what they look like or what their genetics are but we are doing the same thing to these dogs. Time and time again we see that stereotypes are nothing but stereotypes. Dogs cannot be aggressive based on their breed. Dogs are aggressive because of how they are raised, or lack of training. A dog's behavior is a reflection of the owner. We cannot blame the dogs for having bad owners!! We don't blame children for bad parenting! Every dog has the possibility of being aggressive, I've been bitten multiple times by Chihuahuas but that doesn't mean I should blame an entire breed of dogs for the actions of a few!

Why are we allowed to group dogs into categories and discriminate them but it is unlawful to do it against people? They might just be dogs to you, but they are somebody's family member. I don't think anyone or any dog should be punished for the actions of a few. We have to stop demonizing these dogs, my dog is not aggressive!! Her best friends are a 10 month old baby and my 3 year old!! She is family!! Please help us end this ban!
