The residents of Duncan Station and the residents living off of Spring Street, both in the town of Duncan, SC are asking the Town of Duncan to declare a portion of the Spring Street side of the road, from the front of the Duncan Event Center to the entrance of Spring Street a no parking zone.

During events at the Duncan Event Center, individuals will park on that side of the road and greatly reduce visibility for anyone leaving Spring Street and turning onto South Spencer street. Individuals waiting to turn onto South Spencer Street cannot see any oncoming traffic from their left unless they pull out into the road to see. Most individuals turning take their best guess and accelerate to hopefully avoid from being hit by anyone coming from their left. 

This is eventually going to cause a serious accident as most of the individuals traveling down South Spencer Street down not obey the posted 35 mile per hour speed limit. This has been observed by many individuals that live in our neighborhood.

Recently this issue has been compounded by a morning meeting held from about 6 am to after 8 am every Monday and Tuesday morning at a house across from the Event Center. Individuals attending this meeting park along this side of the road, just like when there is an event, and has cause many of us to complain on our Facebook and send the complaints to the Town of Duncan. The Town of Duncan as stated that the would pass our complaints on but to date nothing has been done. 

We would like to take this signed petition to the Town of Duncan in one of their meetings to voice our frustration with this.
