Support the Passage of Mooring and Boat Ordinance for all of Spring Lake
Why this petition matters

Friends:
Thousands of you signed a petition when a development called Spring Lake Ridges was being proposed which would have added a 100-boat marina to Spring Lake.
Thank you. You were very effective: Due to public outcry, Prior Lake updated its Boat Slips and Mooring Facilities Ordinance to prevent uncontrolled growth of slips and slip rentals on all its lakes -- including the part of Spring Lake where the marina was being proposed. So, half of Spring Lake, the part located in the City, is now protected from uncontrolled dock and slip rental. But this offers no protection for our friends living on the rest of Spring Lake – the half of the lake located in Spring Lake Township.
We are asking you to help support a citizens’ effort to ensure ALL of Spring Lake is protected from uncontrolled dock and slip growth. The Spring Lake Township Board will soon consider an ordinance similar to Prior Lake’s ordinance. We all need this to pass. Without protections on the Spring Lake Township part of the lake, unlimited dock growth and slip rentals could happen. If each lot in the Township added just one rental slip it would put more boats on the lake than the proposed marina! And right now, there are NO limits to the number of slips a township lot owner can have or rent. Uncontrolled growth of docks and slips will impact everyone’s enjoyment of the lake and home. It means many more boats on the lake, more cars parking on neighborhood streets, more people walking through yards, more late-night traffic, more noise and trash.
Please step up once again and help make sure all of Spring Lake is protected from uncontrolled growth of docks and rental slips.
Please sign the petition and send a message to the Spring Lake Board (they need to hear from us) that passing the Moorings and Boat Slips Ordinance is in the best interest of ALL of Spring Lake.
You may consider attending a public hearing:
7 p.m. Thursday, December 17
Spring Lake Town Hall, 20381 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake, MN
However, there is limited space at the hearing due to COVID restrictions so please consider emailing the town clerk with your comments: melissahanson@springlaketownship.com
Please help us protect the Spring Lake that we have come to love and enjoy.
Thank you!
