As a current senior at Spring Lake High School, I see the current dress code pointed and directed at women’s clothing and bodies. Why are us as a community, allowing an administration to tell any gender what they can and cannot wear? This rule needs to be dismissed and abolished. Spring Lake High School is a publicly funded institution that is preparing us for a world outside of school/post high school career options, so why should they have the authority to make many different codes of what individuals may or may not wear? Limiting this civil liberty is showing students that basic human rights can be revoked when it comes to a tax funded institutions agenda.
