STUDENTS ONLY PLEASE     

There has been no mandate on masking 7-12th grade students all year, and now there is no mandate for masks on the Federal, State, or even the local level for students of any age. The only person making us wear masks is our Superintendent, Dennis Furton. The School Board has not voted on this subject and there is no reason to keep wearing masks in school if we still shut down because of Covid cases. Fruitport has been mask free all year and still has the same amount of cases as we do as of January 10. Fruitport also has 137 more students in their school system than Spring Lake does. These masks clearly aren't working and serve no purpose. Staff and students over the age of 5 have the option to be vaccinated and those who want to wear a mask still can, we want the choice not to.
