Spread Awareness About and Increase Funding for Crohn's and Colitis!

According to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Crohn's disease is a chronic (ongoing) disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease of the colon, or large intestine. These two diseases are collectively called Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), not to be confused with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's mission is: To cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

Please help this organization find a cure for these horrible, life-changing diseases. I myself have ulcerative colitis, and it and Crohn's disease affect approximately 1.4 million Americans. These illnesses can also put many at a higher risk for developing colorectal cancer than that of the general population. So please sign this petition and share it with everybody. I'm trying to reach my goal of 1,000 signatures by December 31st, so please, share this like crazy! Thank you for making a difference.

Letter to
U.S. House of Representatives
U.S. Senate
President of the United States
I just signed the following petition addressed to: The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.

Keep pursuing research to find a cure for these terrible diseases.

According to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Crohn's disease is a chronic (ongoing) disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Although it can involve any area of the GI tract from the mouth to the anus, it most commonly affects the small intestine and/or colon. Crohn's and a related disease, ulcerative colitis, are the two main disease categories that belong to a larger group of illnesses called inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Ulcerative colitis is a chronic (ongoing) disease of the colon, or large intestine. The disease is marked by inflammation and ulceration of the colon mucosa, or innermost lining. Tiny open sores, or ulcers, form on the surface of the lining, where they bleed and produce pus and mucus. Because the inflammation makes the colon empty frequently, symptoms typically include diarrhea (sometimes bloody) and often crampy abdominal pain.

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's mission is: To cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

Please help this organization find a cure for these horrible, life-changing diseases. I myself have Crohn's disease, and it and ulcerative colitis affect approximately 1.4 million Americans. These illnesses can unwittingly put many at a higher risk for developing colorectal cancer than that of the general population. So please, sign this petition and share it with everybody. Thank you for making a difference.
