As the year 2021 comes to a close, many await for the yearly tradition of ‘Spotify wrapped’. We wait eagerly to see what our top artists, songs, or genres are. However, many were taken aback this year to see one of their top genres was ‘Dream SMP’ even though most of these users had never even watched any of that content. 

This simply should not even count as a genre, the content that Dream and his associates produce is not even remotely related to music, and the songs that qualify for this genre have nothing to do with Dream, or his associates content. If we are strictly going off ‘vibe’ that would destroy the whole meaning of having genres in the first place. 

I and many others feel this way about this issue, and hope to get it resolved, or at least change how Spotify categories their music genres.
