SPG Johnson LLC treats its tenants like unruly college kids in a dorm, while we remain model tenants and pay well above the NYC rental market.

They set a 10PM curfew to the roof, forbid any alcohol or smoking, now they're closing the roof for 6months without any reason or prior notice. For some reason they choose not to mention any of these rules to us verbally or fit it into our 60page lease.

Building management claims the closure is “due to the possibility and danger of severe weather” (an extreme rarity in NYC) yet refuses to close it during Hurricane Season or to those wealthy enough to afford $300 per roof visit.

It’s well known that many lower income workers work until 10PM or later and therefore cannot rightfully enjoy their amenities nor afford to enjoy them.

Please fight against Classism in our building and help to reopen the roof to all tenants.
