Proposed Yellow Lines on Woolton Road outside Childsplay Nursery.

The council are proposing to make the cycle lane in front of Childsplay nursery, mandatory, which would involve double yellow lines.

This would only involve one side of the road, which in practice would force parents to stop on the opposite side and try and cross a busy main road at peak time with children as young as three months and up to five years old.

We have asked could there be provision made to utilise part of the grass bank between Sinclair drive and the boundary of the nursery for a drop off zone as parents and services would have to use side roads which would lead to congestion and compromise safety of the children .

We were advised parking was available down Sinclair Drive, Heathfield Road and on the opposite side of the nursery.  This would seem to be just pushing a problem elsewhere rather than solving the problem by either a drop off zone or not placing a mandatory cycle lane outside a busy children’s nursery in the first place.  Just as there are no mandatory lanes being placed outside Mosspits school, the shops and the public house by the lights on Queens Drive and also outside residential houses opposite Mosspits school.

We hope we can gather support to make Liverpool City Council give proper consideration to this issue as this matter will affect Sinclair Drive,  Heathfield Road and Woolton Road residents.

We would ask all residents of Sinclair Drive,  Heathfield Road  and Woolton Road in the vicinity of the nursery to consider objecting by signing this petition and/or emailing Mr Spencer Pritchard at Spencer.Prichard@amey.co.uk, who is responsible for this traffic regulation order. Please note that the legislation requires that all written/emailed representations must state grounds for objecting a particular TRO (traffic regulation order) for it to become valid for consideration.
