Speed Bump for Carpenter Street

Speed Bump for Carpenter Street
Why this petition matters
Hello Neighbors!
After sending an email to the East Petersburg Borough, I was invited to speak at the next council meeting about the uptick in speeding on our section of Carpenter Street between State and Stevens Streets.
I believe my neighbors and I have seen an uptick in speeding cars and have a growing concern for the safety of the numerous children that live and play here. Given the fact that we are the first block north State Street bordering East Petersburg Elementary School, the amount of child pedestrians is quite high around rush hour. I believe impatient drivers are tempted to speed more in this particular block of Carpenter Street due to it being a shorter drive between stop signs. Our quite street is being disrupted by this, and I am confident my neighbors would agree that a speedbump would greatly benefit the quality of our neighborhood.
The meeting is Tuesday, October 4th at 7pm. Please consider signing this petition, I believe illustrating support from my neighbors will carry weight and help my case greatly. Neighbors are welcome to come out to support, but not mandatory in any sense.
Thanks for your support!
