Kitchen workers and restaurants have always shown up in the most challenging times, giving out free meals during the pandemic or working out a complete shift during New Year's Eve for your enjoyment! Today, restaurants are struggling because the business is not profitable and even after raising the base salary of kitchen workers, some have decided to quit the industry.
It's not a secret that kitchen workers have some of the worst shifts compared to other industries for a long time. The mental health and suicide rates are rising more than others, yet the government does not consider the food service industry essential.

For the last four years, we have been traveling around the world, interviewing kitchen workers and collecting stories to showcase the reality of the backbone of the restaurants. We have realized that one thing is the passion for this craft, but in the long run, health issues are due, and we have to set our priorities.

We are asking for your help to sign this petition so we can call the attention to the government identities and insurance companies that want to give back by creating special discounts and benefits for the kitchen workforce no matter their race, ethnicity, or even migratory status.
