I am in touch with many young women Afghan refugees currently at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin because I have been mentoring young Afghan women during their college years. They and I are very grateful to the US government for getting them out. However, they are NOT getting the medical care they need. One young woman has had a severely infected tooth for the past month. Medical personnel on the base keep giving her antibiotics but have not let her see a dentist.Friends and I have called the base, the ops center, the POA, and more multiple times to no avail.  She is in terrible pain and in tears most of the time. This is not the way to welcome refugees. Please help me petition the Fort and the Department of Defense to help her either get off the base to see a dentist or to bring one to the base (there are dentists at other Afghan refugee centers).
