Green corridors are essential. Without them, animals are trapped, at risk of biodiversity loss, bushfire, invasive species and disease (to say nothing of how human will cope without trees absorbing our CO2).

Sensible, sustainable development means sharing our land with the other living creatures. Not mowing them down and pushing them to extinction. Show some proper leadership for crying out loud.

I'm signing because I am sick to death of witnessing the unrelenting decimation of our natural habitat. The council are hell-vent on putting profit before flora and fauna!!!!!!!

I am passionate about nature and know that without enough trees our ecosystem will collapse and at the very least founder. It’s extremely important we all learn the importance of not only trees, but how ecosystems work in order to live in greater harmony with the earth, so we can all thrive together - for me this is the way of the future - humans living in harmony with the earth - respect!

P.S. I live in the Sunshine Coast hinterlands - not Melbourne - tried to change it but can’t.

"If we're destroying our trees and destroying our environment and hurting animals and hurting one another and all that stuff, there's got to be a very powerful energy to fight that. I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that."
-Ellen DeGeneres

"Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain." -Henry David Thoreau

"For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it." -Jacques-Yves Cousteau

I’m signing because maintaining sustainable ecosystems in the Sunshine Coast is absolutely essential for our future wellbeing, which is inextricably linked to the wellbeing of all the other species of native plants and animals. Our future is in our hands. Our children and grandchildren deserve nothing less.
