Save 114 year old Cleveland Hall from Destruction

Built in 1905, Cleveland Hall is a three-story white home that sits across from Converse College, at the entrance to the Converse Heights neighborhood on the corner of East Main Street and Mills Avenue. The house was the private residence of Arthur Franklin Cleveland and wife Margaret Chevellette Cleveland and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the Converse College Historic District.
It is the gateway to one of Spartanburg's oldest, thriving neighborhoods and was recently purchased by a local developer. The plan is to demolish this historic home and build 10-12 homes on the one acre lot. Our community is coming together to save the home. Once restored, it will make a wonderful event space, or could return to its original glory as a single family home.
