Why this petition matters

  • I was a productive employee I worked in the accounts receivable department for PVH Corp.  a fortune 500 apparel company.  I received my yearly work Performance evaluation.  My supervisor recommend three different  job  Promotions along with a salary increase.  I received this in May 2018.  In August 2018 I decided to purchase a home in Hillsborough New Jersey to be closer to my job.  I had no idea my dream of owning a home would turn into a domestic violence nightmare.  My husband was violently attacking me on a weekly basis and I still showed up to work every day because I knew I had two young daughters depending on me.  It was very hard to drive to work with broken ribs.  However I managed to do it.  I was written up for performance issues because it was becoming increasingly hard to juggle working full-time, caring for my daughters while my husband was physically attacking me.  I was too embarrassed to report the domestic violence occurring at home to my Human Resources Deoartment.  I was hoping and praying my husband would just stop physically attacking me and everything and go back to normal and I would not lose my job.  Unfortunately that did not happen.  My job created a sense of stability for me and my family And the domestic violence has actually escalated since I lost my job.
