Soon it will no longer be England's green and pleasant land but a grey covering of bricks and concrete.

Children need space to play. Dulwich Estates definitely does not need any more money.

When I was at school 70 years ago we could not imagine any school losing their playing field even if Hitler had won.

Green space is vital for the well-being of our children. Not just physical well-being but mental health as well. Some youngsters may not have gardens to enjoy so, for them, a school playing field is even more essential.

It is essential that the school has an outdoor space. It's as vital as the need for classrooms. Dulwich Estate need to understand that they have a responsibility to the community. To deny pupils this basic right to an outdoor space will severely limit their physical and emotional development
and make school less fun. The children must come first, not the bank.

If someone wrote this as a storyline in a soap opera, everyone would think it was too-far fetched. Because no-one is wicked enough to sell off a primary school's playing field. Are they?
