Southport High School March 14th Walkout

This petition made change with 256 supporters!

Attention Southport High School students, it is very obvious that we are not safe in our own schools anymore. Since 2013 there have been 291 school shootings, and 18 of them have happened in 2018. On Wednesday, February 21st we were in fear over online threats that our high school was going to be shot up. Although these threats turned out to be false, many students stayed home Thursday and the police presence increased. The students who came to school did not feel safe. We need to make a change. On March 14th there is going to be a national high school walkout at 10am local time for 17 minutes to represent the 17 lives lost in Parkland, Florida. If enough of our students sign this petition, Perry cannot punish us. If Perry chooses to punish us, we will fight back. Our voices matter. Sign this petition to help make a change against gun laws in our county, our state, and our small town.
