Dunstan Hospital is run by a community-owned not-for-profit organisation and receives most of its funding from the Southern District Health Board (SDHB).

The SDHB has proposed cutting Dunstan’s funding for 2015-16 by 5%, as well as providing no additional funding to cover the strong population growth in the Central Otago district. This will mean a substantial reduction in the level of services provided, including the likely closure of 25%-50% of inpatient beds and a corresponding loss of jobs.

Support essential high-quality health care for the people of Central Otago and Upper Clutha at Dunstan Hospital.  Sign this petition and keep updated on the facebook page at

Central Otago Health Services Limited (COHSL) will collate both hard-copy and online petition results. The results of this petition will be reported to the Minister of Health.
